Ed Simpson and Geoff Silverman both came home with medals from the Sabre event at the Veterans National Championships in Gloucester in March.
Ed, who was seeded 5th after fencing well in two rounds of poules, won four DE fights and a bronze medal. He lost to the eventual winner, Chris Farren, in a exciting gala semi final.
In the process he knocked out fellow Bedford Club member Geoff Silverman. Geoff however was thrilled with his result as it gave him best placed fencer in his age group (Cat 3) - and a place in the GB team at the World Veterans event in Limoges later in the year.
Also delighted with an excellent result was Caroline Clancy, who made the last eight in the women's sabre event.
