Bedford Fencing Club News
Andrew and Silvia Brown are leaving the club – and the country! They are moving on 20th June to Scotland and expect to be occupying a new build villa in Castleton, Auchterarder (near Gleneagles). Their love of the area blossomed so much that when they married 6 years ago it was at a Kirk in Trinity Gask nearby where Andrew’s forefathers are buried.
They are very sad to be leaving BFC but their committee roles of Treasurer nd Secretary are in good new “young” hands with Oliver Hall taking on both Committee jobs.
The first International Open competion to be organised by British Veterans' Fencing took place at Guildford on 4/5th January.
BVF hosted the EVF circuit event for Epee at the Guildford Spectrum on 4 th January 2020.
This was part of a Veterans International Open 6 weapon event which was also be a BVF selection event.
A number of club members entered and some won medals.
Silvia Brown and Jonathan Katz were nominated for awards.
Five of the Best!
Club members Silvia and Andrew Brown, Adrian Griffin, Caroline Clancy and John Prime qualified to represent Great Britain at the Veterans World Championships in Cairo 2019.
Silvia Brown wins two gold medals
This double Gold Medal win - both individual and team Gold - is quite extraordinary at a World Championship!
The 2019 Annual General Meeting of Bedford Fencing Club was held on 10th September 2019.
