Professor Jonathan Katz
Professor Jonathan Katz, a three Weapon Performance Coach and Coach Educator has been Senior Club Coach at BFC for more than twenty years, leading a team of professional and volunteer club coaches.
He continually integrates his professional knowledge and experience in performance sport psychology to complement coaching at the club enhancing training, skills aquisition and competition performance.
Jonathan's experience includes the development and delivery of training programmes concurrent with performance coaching at national and international competition.
Jonathan has once again been appointed Coach to the England Senior Squad at the Commonwealth Fencing Championships in Australia in 2018. He actively supports club members from cadets to veterans at competitions at home and abroad.
He won the Bedfordshire Sports Coach of the Year Award in 2013.
We are particularly proud of his achievements in providing psychological support to elite British fencers and to a range of Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
