Eastern Region Youth Championships

There was a good turn out from the youth of Bedford Fencing Club at the January Eastern Region Youth Championships and some excellent results.

It was good to see some fencers competing for the first time. Those in the top 8 qualify for the British Youth Championships 2017. (BYC)

If you fence sabre, even at the club on the odd occasion then this applies to you.

From the 1st September you will need the new 800N sabre glove, see  notice from BFA on their website

To fence after the 1st Sept without one of the new 800N gloves could invalidate your BFA insurance should you have an accident.

The Elite Épée Grand Final

Eleanor came 3rd in the u16 girls and Adam came 3rd in the u11 boys. We have 2 bronze medalists in the club.  The end of a long and good season for both of them - now time for some time off over the summer.

This gives ranking points towards qualifying for England Fencing squad.
